Today , Maryse, Trevor and I traversed the last large loch of the Caledonian canal system-Loch Lochie-and were rewarded with fabulous views of the reflected mountain sides on either side from absolutely calm water-breathtaking. We motored down to the last two locks at Corpach-close to Fort William, and tomorrow set out into the sea loch of Loch Linnhe, en route for Oban, where we will stop in the marina while Maryse alights and we sort out her journey back to Torquay. Then-Wednesday morning-Trevor and I head down the Mull of Kintyre peninsula and into the Irish Sea-en route for Padstow,  450 miles South. Where we will actually get to we don’t know-the forecast is of variable light winds-but there are a variety of fronts around and I don’t think the forecasts will be reliable beyond a day or two. What we want is some kind of Northerly brisk breeze, but as always in the sailing world-we work with what we get.
From the lee of Ben Nevis on a still Summer evening-bye from the three of us-for now.   Steve, Maryse, and Trevor.
