Yes--the dreaded inter tropical convergence
zone--or the doldrums to you and I!!
The last 24 hours have been a mixed bag. Initially
some more good fast sailing, but last evening we reached the ITCZ--an area of
little wind, confused unpleasant seas,rain,electrical storms--sounds great
eh?--and we're only just emerging from it now--under engine, no other
way-- with light southerly winds establishing themselves. At present, too
light for sailing, so under engine and may well be for much the rest of the
trip.
However all well on board and in good spirits--just
wish there was a sailing wind--but glad to have left the rain and confused seas
behind.
