Another 24 hours of light winds—so continuing the slow passage! We certainly won’t break any records with this one---and unfortunately light wind sailing can be even more challenging than strong.
However we make progress—slowly---and take great pleasure from the few hours when the wind strengthens above 10 knots and our speed picks up. There is more wind further south, but a long way and little increase
and it would take us further from the Chagos latitude. So we soldier on—at least it’s pretty calm, dry and pleasant sailing.
We passed the half way mark of what will be an 1800 mile passage last night. The forecasts indicate better winds in a couple of days, so hopefully the second half will be faster!
