Another day working our way up the Malacca
Strait--40 miles and anchored off Tg Tohor--not a great anchorage--the waters
around here are very shallow a long way offshore--so we're anchored in 4 metres
about a mile offshore!!
And it's pissing down, so I may as well write a
blog!!
Last night off Pisang island was a tale of 2
halves. First half was wonderful--hatches open, no rain, and a cool breeze to
keep us cool in temperatures that never go below 30 degrees even at night. A
tiny swell rocking us to sleep after a nice vegatable Thai curry. Around 2 a.m.
I was alert realising the wind had got up--donned shorts and out to keep an eye
on things as the wind blew at 30 knots--soon to be followed by rain and a
spectacular thunderstorm and lightning---not a spectacle that I enjoy however
when at sea! After an hour it all quietened down and I went back to
bed.
Today was good weather until we anchored about an
hour ago. Within 20 minutes it was bucketing down --and still is--but so far no
electrical storm. We need to get further north ASAP!!
