Last night was the final dinner and prize giving for the ARC 1500. All boats
that set off from Portsmouth completed their passage. Nanny Cay is a rather
nice marina well suited as a Caribbean destination. Far better than
Portsmouth that lacks a food store and chandlery. Both essential in my view.
It was a good evening made all the better by winning the Caribbean Blog
prize! In the Cruising Class Shelena came a credible 7th place after
corrections for engine hours used and handicap rating. The winners basically
did not use much engine. We used nearly 60 hours! In any event an excellent
passage with weather far kinder than statistics suggested we might have
expected. So for Helen, especially, the Gods repaid her courage and her last
minute decision to do the passage with me. What a star!

After breakfast the morning after the "do" we set off for our passage of
some 335Nm to our base at The Landings in Rodney Bay, St Lucia. This will
involve 2 nights at sea. The weather forecast is for light winds so we
re-fuel before departure Nany Cay. We are both looking forward to seeing
friends at St Lucia. We departed there in April. Time to have arrest from
Shelena.

All is well aboard Shelena.
