No problems at all today. The winds have been rather kind and we appear to
be making progress with arrival at Rodney Bay tomorrow night or early hours
Sunday. When I did the ARC in 2010 my disappointment was only to arrive at
Rodney Bay at 0200. When Dave did the ARC in, I think 2009, he too arrived
early hours in the morning. We therefore have a joint desire to hit land
fall at a civilised time. That is looking unlikely. At least next year's ARC
allows Dave a second chance which is unlikely to be afforded to me. What a
shame.

Food is now running low for some items. The local bread from C Verde has no
preservatives and it was only through use of freezer and fridge that we have
managed to make it last, stripping out the mouldy bread from the sound
parts. Stale bread toasted is nice. Our fizzy drinks have all but finished
but we have plenty of water. We have stacks of milk and meat. Pre-preparing
meals is definitely worth doing. Tonight I will be serving beef burgers and
chips plus baked beans and the last of the lettuce. Adam and Jules the
George Foreman grill gift has been outstanding and used daily. Good job!
The tomatoes are all but finished but loads of cereal. The important treats
cupboard is still OK but the Mars bars and other chocolates need
refrigerating when the Shelena saloon temperature is about 29 degrees
celsius. Finally, Vicki's fruit cake has one piece left! Will Dave for go
that in favour of the skipper as a final respectful gesture... ?NO chance!
Thanks Vicki. We all loved your cake.

In case anyone thought we were idle, today has seen application of
Pythagoras's Theory to calculate that the horizon is only about 3Nm for an
observer 2 metres above sea level. I have mistakenly stated in earlier
writings that it was about 6 Nm. Dave has convinced us that this is untrue.
I will be checking with Pete our Professor friend immediately we land at
Rodney Bay!

Love to all at home from the crew on Shelena.
