Monday 23rd November 2015

We have had the most exquisite 24 hours sail with 200Nm, passing under the
hull. Certain of my Oyster owner friend tease me that we will not
manage200Nm (Hugh) but I am glad to say we did it today and hope to repeat
it again soon. The reality is that we have near perfect conditions with
winds in the 17-24knots range blowing from the east. As always we know not
whether it will last and whether we will lose that wind to undermine our
eta timing to St Lucia. The electronic wizardry suggests the 28th November
but this is based on current high speeds around 8 to 9 knots. My bet is for
the 30th November and Helen reckons the 1st December. By way of celebration
at achieving 200Nm and a yacht speed of19.3 knots, yes 19.3 knots down a
wave, it was time treat Shelena for a spa treatment. She had done well on
our passage so deserved a through deck clean. There were a number of flying
fish found that needed to receive their sea burial that had made their last
flight to land on our decks. So it was brush and clean from bow to stern.
The cockpit needed cleaning too after 5 days at sea.

Our problem of the day is our genoa furler. It is looking like the foil has
slipped out of its housing. I hope that Seldon have a solution. We will know
tomorrow, but at least it is not a structural issue.

Salmon is on the menu tonight and Dave is chief chef. Excellent and bye for
now.

Love from all on Shelena
