Vigo

This is a large Ria indeed. We had main engine in parts and a great beam
reach hitting 10kts. So a satisfying day. Marina Davida Sport did not
disappoint and neither did their restaurant. We had a nice view over the Ria
and a very nice meal with local Galacia wine, Parroquias Treixadra, to wash
down Helen's Bream and my oysters. The cost of the wine, less than EU20, and
that was the tip of the night from our waiter! A Happy 37 years anniversary
indeed.

As it happened we were directed to a pontoon next to Ian and Henrietta. So
we met for morning coffee with the first of some nice sunshine. The weather
to this point might be described as disappointing, being cool and with
showers. Vigo was different. Indeed, the city bathed in warm sunshine has a
balanced blend of old town and new shopping centre. We had a superb lunch at
a restaurant in old Vigo which was just perfect. A shady part of old town
and where the waitress was patient enough to translate the entire menu into
English.

We ended staying three nights at Vigo. We had Ian and Harriett to our yacht
and ended up with pizza and plenty of wine to make an enjoyable evening. All
good thinks come to an end and so it was we had to press on to Portugal!
Goodbye Harriot and Ian. Enjoyed your company.
