After burning a huge amount of fuel we have made it into the straights in time for a favourable tide...and now we wait for that tide!  We’ve throttled right back, and are currently only making about 2.5 knots over the ground, but hopefully it’ll all change in the next hour or so.
 
Our next waypoint is going to be Cape St Vincent where Portugal changes direction between the East-West running Algarve coast, and the North-South Atlantic coast.  We are expecting a reasonably calm run over the next 36 – 40 hours, but it’s unlikely to be as calm as yesterday when Russell took a quick dip in the Sea, while the rest of us cheered him on.  I’ll try post a picture of him leaping swan like into the briny later on.
