Well, they say that Florida is the "Lightening capital of the world". It has been living up to its reputation lately. We were motoring up the ICW yesterday when the skies gradually  got darker and darker. We then started getting these automated weather warnings on the radio saying "severe thunderstorms in vicinity". We were just approaching a bridge when the wind started to pick up, so decided to aim for an anchorage in the lee of the bridge causeway. The thunderstorm hit just before we got the anchor down..... so we both got a soaking. These storms only last about 30 mins, but as it was mid afternoon, we decided to just stay put for the night.

Next morning (today) dawned bright and calm, but with forecasts of further thundery weather over the weekend. So we have just come a few miles further and have picked up a buoy at Titusville marina. We can see the Kennedy Space Centre from here, so may pay it a visit on Sunday while the weather settles down. In the meantime, have visited the local micro brewery and tried their beer. Not bad IPA, though they do some crazy brews, like "peanut butter" flavoured???

Best wishes,
