Hi there.
We sailed the short trip (20 miles) from Portobello yesterday morning. As we approached the entrance  to  the  harbour that leads to the canal we could see the dozens of ships either coming in or out of the entrance, or waiting for permission  to do so. As we can sail in shallower water than the big ships and so can keep mainly out of the way, the port authorities gave permission  for us to come straight in.

So, we are now in Shelter Bay marina. Quite nice, with a pool and wifi, etc. It will be nice to have a swim again as swimming off the Panama coast is a little tricky.... (crocodiles and snakes). We loose some rally members here as several will peel off to go through into the Pacific. We were tempted to do the same.....but decided not this time.

We are staying here for a few days to catch up on boat jobs and take in a trip to Panama City. Also several rally parties to attend while here.

I will update the blog when we leave for the longish voyage up to San Andrias and Providencia, which is next on the agenda.

Best Wishes,

J&G
