Good morning readers, 0730 here. This high has remained stuck over us and we have been continuously on engine. We had a brief spell yesterday when the wind picked up on the beam to 11 knots so we unfurled the code 0 to assist, but then it shifted aft and the apparent fell through the flow so we furled it again. I'm just going to get the updated forecast now and figure out how far east of the Azores we pick up the NNE winds. We've got about 500 litres of fuel left so I think we could do it but might play on the side of caution and consider a pit-stop for an hour in Horta, which is 37 miles off, and top one of the tanks up. Some of the chaps don't like the idea of canned food for the next few days so perhaps a small fresh food shop too. We will see as we've managed to catch bugger all fish this last few days. What we have seen this morning is plenty of whales...this must be a hotspot for them...no wonder its common for boats to hit them.

So that's it for now...short and sweet.

Pic of the day: Brownwater taking on Tomato at another game of backgammon....no surprises losing again.
