Firstly a big hello to all our blog followers. We will hopefully keep you updated daily with news from good ship Shalan and of course a position update so you can track our progress on our voyage to Bermuda 935 miles away.

On board we've got a cracking bunch which comprises of:

Andrew - aka Captain Hindsight
Renato - aka Tomato
Tom - aka Private Brownwater
Karin - not to be seen in a bikini
Igor - our canadian ice trucker

Local time is 1900 and we departed Falmouth harbour at 1805 local time. We are currently heading west around the south of Antigua and just taking a shortcut inside the reef off the south western point. There's not currently a great deal of wind so we are motoring at the moment.

We had an early start this morning at 0630 to move the boat into Catamaran Marina for a final rig check and sea trial to be completed. Along with re-fuelling and preparing the boat for sea this consumed most of the day.

Its just gone dark now and we've decided on a watch structed which will be 4 hours on and 6 off, with a new face every two hours. Everyone is in happy spirits and looking forward to a good trip. The weather looks pretty good for the coming week with relatively light winds so we might have to motor for some parts of it. Time will tell!

Well thats all to report for now. More tomorrow.
