Isabella Here We Come

We are sitting in Wreck Bay still, but planning to head to Isla Isabella
tomorrow morning. Its about 100 miles or so, but with such little wind
about, it will probably take us a while.

We just went to the big local fruit and veg market and stocked up on
goodies for the next hop to Marqesas. We have bought quite a bit, but not
sure how long any of it will last. Most should get through the first week
at least. Looking forward now to getting off. Isabella will be nice for 3
days or so, and then we go for it. WeŽre psychologically ready for it I
think, so all that is left is leaving and setting those sails.

We will be leaving in company this time. 2 Norwegian boats are going our
way, and both are a similar size to us. Not sure how long we will stay in
VHF range, but its nice to know someone is close-ish if we need them.

We are having hell and all trouble with our communications at the moment.
Our PC has decided to go on the blink. The screen will not light up at
all. I know the rest is working, it just wont light up. We have had it
apart and fiddled, but to no avail. If anyone has any ideas, then give us
a shout. We may order a lead to connect the laptop to the TV, and then
weŽll just use the TV screen. It seems that the Fedex charge for this is
$100 for a a $20 cable...so thatŽs how Fedex makes so much money!

Then we thought we would get the Mac to work with the sat phone, because
of course the Mac still runs like a trooper (did I mention I love Macs?).
It would seem thought, that this is harder than it looks and we seem to be
getting no-where with this either. It seems there is nothing left but to
throw a lot of money at the problem, and hope that some of it sticks
somewhere! Until we have this sorted we can only text message from the sat
phone. This means blogs will contain our position and a few salient facts
about the trip so far...and thats about it as we are limited to 160 words
only.

I the situation changes weŽll let you know. We are a bit disapponted about
it all, but hopefully will have it sorted soon enough.

Anyway, enough moaning...we are still out here having fun!

Till the next time.

Lots of love

J and Ems xx
