We are managing about 4 knots still, but have woken to very overcast skies
and mist since 4 am.

A flying fish threw itself on deck last night, so I can no longer say we
caught NO fish for 850 miles! He was quickly despatched on a hook, from
whence he came to try to entice some chums, but alas...nothing! Quel
Suprise!

We crossed the equator last night at 0500. It was a bit of a bleary-eyed
affair. I was on watch and Ems had to get up for it, for which she was
compensated with an extra hour in bed! To be honest we both felt a bit daft,
but laughed a lot and took lots of pics. Neptune got his fair share of
presents too, including some of our champagne and a fishing lure, in the
hopes that might entice him to give up some of his fish! At this point, I'll
try anything! I'm not sure if its the first time a Willis or a Haywood has
crossed the Equator by boat - perhaps not, but certainly a first in a sail
boat I think - that's a rather cool thought!

So we are now less than 100 miles away from a good night's sleep. We will
arrive in Wreck Bay tomorrow some time. If the wind stays as it is, then we
will arrive in the morning. Our friends had Sea Lions escorting them in when
they arrived yesterday - Wow, Wow, Wow!

Its all a bit strange really. After 8 days of beautiful sailing on calm
seas, there's a little part of us that doesn't want to arrive at all. Its so
idyllic out here, that the thought of a bay and boats seems alien and
horrid. Are we turning into recluses? Perhaps by the end of this trip people
will be referring to 'that weird couple'.

Lets, however, not get too carried away. We finally finished watching all 3
Galapagos DVDs and are very excited about seeing some stuff and going
diving. The sleeping and the sightseeing are going to be awesome...oh yeah
and the hull painting. Yippee!

That's it from us. Next update from Wreck Bay!!

Till the next time!

Love

J and Ems xx
