Friday 14th March

Up at dawn and motored the couple of miles over to a group of rocks called the ‘Indians’.  There are a few buoys that you can use to tie to whilst you go snorkelling here, but as the snorkelling is so very good, there is a high demand for the 10 buoys – hence the very early start.  And a good job we did this as all the buoys were occupied by just after 0700hours.  We immediately set off swimming and were rewarded with a really good experience and got some great photos (see the photos page on the website).

By midmorning we were back on board and heading north up Drake’s Passage to Great Camanoe Island where we found ourselves alone at anchor in Lee Bay. But again this was not to last and by nightfall there were 5 boats at anchor.  Fun swimming there with a low cave, but the whole bay seemed to be awash with small fry and quite cloudy water. The holding is terrible in the bay and I would not fancy trying to anchor there in any sort of blow.
