Just a short blog to confirm that we finally left Guernsey last Thursday as advertised – not without some teeth sucking as the weather predicted a fairly rough exit down channel. We were not disappointed. However, the benefit was escaping the next incoming Low with associated repeat bad weather. Seemed to be a danger that we would spend the winter in St Peter Port.

Four days later we are about 150 miles North West of Corunna; our aim was to stay away from the perennial gales off Finisterre but instead we have fallen into a hole with no wind at all. Now rolling gunn’l to gunn’l – if we had a gun deck it would be awash – in the large swell caused by the weather we have been avoiding. However, the sun is shining and the skipper is in shorts. Those with faint hearts should turn away now.....
