Another month has gone by, but we have not been idle. We have been working hard on furnishing the house and varnishing doors and painting some of the bedrooms. By the time Ewan and family came over for Christmas we were all organised.
Early December we went back to stay with Ewan and Jem for a long weekend as we had to go to Auckland and a few other places to collect the furniture we had bought on Trademe (the equivalent of ebay in UK). We drove back to our new home with a trailer load full of "stuff". All the shops are a long drive from us so we ended up spending several days shopping here and there; it is amazing what you need when you start from scratch!
But the last week or more we have had a relaxing time; well that is not doing any renovations, but spending time with the grandchildren, getting our sailing dinghy (a Mirror) into the water and having bbq on the beach with the neighbours. We are very lucky to have ended up in a lovely local community.
Today is the end of 2016, tomorrow a new year begins... we hope that it will be a good one for everyone.
