We had a very early start from Wall Bay with a lovely sunrise. We motored mostly all the way to Ekincik, which took about five hours. We were tied up in Mymarina by about midday. After an early lunch we were ready for a boat trip up the Dalyan river to go and visit the ancient sites. This was very interesting for Kirsten and Mark. The weather was fine and not too many tourists visiting the ruins. There were many boats in the river delta loaded with tourists. We also saw some turtles.
That evening we had a lovely meal at the Mymarina restaurant.
The next day, Kirsten and Mark's last we decided to stay put as the weather forecast was not good at all with lots of rain and wind. We did not get the rain and wind, but a big swell, which made all the boats move back and forth at quiet a rate. Most people were concerned and put many extra lines on. This carried on throughout the night, by without incidents. Late afternoon Kirsten, Mark, Lanah and myself walked into Ekincik, Duncan stayed to look after the boat. There was not much to see and we came back empty handed (no supper); so we cooked a simple meal on board. Lanah was not too happy about the constant movement of the boat. None of us had a restful night.
Next morning we set off early for Marmaris. We managed to motorsail and get a good speed. We did get some very heavy rain on the way. At Yacht Marine we got a berth on A dock, which was not too far to walk to restaurant, showers, office etc.
At four o'clock we were ready to leave in the hire car. We stopped in Marmaris and had a short wander around, an early supper and then off too Dalaman Airport: the end of a fabulous week had come far too soon.
We were left then to get the boat ready for haul-out, which happened on Monday 28th. We were the first boat and all went smoothly. First on the travellift, then on a cradle which was moved by a trailer to our spot on the hard; all very efficient.
Since all the rain the weather has considerably cooled down to a very nice temperature for working on the boat.
We are now dealing with painters, the refrigerator man, sailmakers, etc.
Highland Duck's Bob and Margret came to see us yesterday and we had a lovely meal in the restaurant, for which Werner from FEE joined us as well. We had met Werner and Soni in the Red Sea earlier in the year.
A few more days now and then we are off home.
