We arrived in Lamen Bay after dark last night, not ideal. We left Port Villa at 5 in the morning and motor sailed as fast as we could. We had to slow down at one point to bring a big Mahi mahi on board. So we are having fish tonight.
We went ashore and met some locals. On the way back to the boat we spotted the dugong; we grabbed out snorkel gear of the boat and joined the people from the boat next to us to swim with this strange creature. It looks a bit like a walrus and walks on is front fins on the bottom grazing on the little bit of grass that is there. This bay also has lots of big turtles, beautiful hawks bills. The locals are very friendly they come to have a look at us in their dugout canoes.
Tomorrow we'll move on to another island. We have not decided yet which one.
