Simpson Bay Marina, St Maartens.

The boat has been in pieces again and as I type this the alternator and regulator have been taken away to be tested to see if they are the culprits in preventing the batteries from being charged. The electrician spent a while trying to work out how the boat is wired but after two hours I suggested we just move on and try and get the fault rectified!

On Monday, Ian, Andy and I played nine holes of golf having been inspired by Justin Rose playing the U.S.Masters and coming a creditable second, and although we had fun, we were not threatening the course record at all. It was an interesting course layout with plenty of water and sand hazards although Andy had picked up on Tripadvisor that it was in poor condition. Today, we are going to hire a car and take a tour of the bisland.

As time is marching on (and the boat continues to have niggles) I am making enquiries as to how feasable it is to have Sea Spray transported to Europe in order to shorten the trip. Cost will be the big issue and if this is prohibitive, then we will continue with our plans to sail to Bermuda and home via the Azores.
