Noon position 15 24N, 42 18W, day’s run 123, DTG 1018. The last twenty four hours have been very steady at between 12 and 20 knots of wind and we have carried the same rig for the duration. This morning, Ian and I did some routine work on the boat such as cleaning, greasing, shackle-key checks and then we had a look at the safety gear paying particular attention to our lifejackets.
The settled routine yesterday afternoon was broken when Andy shouted, “Look! Quick. Look. Seaweed!” We all looked, then returned to our books and music to while away the sunny evening, before salt water showers on the frame at the back of the boat.
In addition to the routine work this morning, Ian has made a laundry bag out of some netting and so we are now towing our laundry with a predicted turn around of five hours if the sun is shining brightly.
All the crew of Sea Spray wish to send a very special 7th Birthday greeting, to Alfie Blackburn from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, we’ve all got our party hats on!
