Noon position 19 14N, 26 19W, day’s run 121, DTG 160. The last twenty four hours have been a bit of a slog as we are trying to make way into a headwind under motor, and occasionally using the yankee and/or staysail to give us a bit of a lift into the wind.
The intention is to work on the jobs Thursday and leave Friday morning, as some of us have an important rendezvous in Barbados after Christmas. The weather is very much a mixed bag. We had thunderstorms last night and today it’s overcast and warm, but it is definitely very un-tradewind conditions. We are hoping for more favourable conditions when we leave Mindelo, on Sao Vincente on Friday.
In the meantime, a nice warm shower tomorrow night with a shandy or two sounds a very pleasing prospect!
