Seaspray
Mon 1 Dec 2014 22:22
Noon position 27 12N, 07 02W, day’s run 111 nm, distance to go (DTG) 2589. The first twenty four hours have come and gone and the wind was very variable and so we had to use the engine occasionally to keep us moving. As usual, Mount Teide dominated our departure from the Canaries as it towered above the cumulus cloud that form around it daily.
Andy made an excellent spag bol last night and we had porridge with Nutella this morning, as seems to be the custom on Sea Spray now.
Our equipment seems to be working at the moment although the water maker needed speaking to sternly this morning before it produced drinking water.
From here on in, we are all going to calculate (or guess!) our days run and Andy was the most accurate today guessing that we had covered 96 miles noon to noon.
As part of our daily management of the boat, we are going to leave the sat phone on between 12.00 and 13.00 GMT, or UTC if you are a modern person, in case heaven forbid, anyone want’s to speak with us.
‘Adios’ for now.
