Noon position 28 06N, 16 16W. At 0730 this morning Sea Spray slipped quietly out of Las Galletas and we are now making steady progress using the engine alone, towards Lanzarote where we expect to be at about 1600 tomorrow afternoon. The forecast is for a force three with smooth seas in the north west of the archipelago which should be an improvement on the conditions we now have.
Andy seems to have the bit between his teeth with the fishing at the moment as he has been studying our book all morning and is contemplating buying a rod (we have just lines on the boat at present).
Yesterday, we bought two whole cooked chickens but one has already disappeared so we need to make the next one last a bit longer, but the girl in the fruit and veg shop was very amused by our bag containing the chickens. I understand that the Spanish for chicken needs careful pronunciation as it can easily be misunderstood for a certain part of the male anatomy!
