We started our trip North along a stretch of coast which isn't that great, until we get back to the Elba area.

Leaving Ponza early we covered 36 miles by early afternoon and entered Marina Neptune - visited on the way South.

Initially it was very calm and under engine - the wind slowly filled in to provide some motor sailing and finally a last few hours of pure sailing into about 10knots of wind. Bob got his first sighting of 'wild life' with a pod of dolphins, following a fishing trawler. Unfortunately none got closer than about 100 yards from us.

It is very hot today - about 35 degrees. Fortunately the forecast indicates it will be back to a more comfortable 28 degrees in the next day or so.

Tomorrow we do another short stint to Rome were we will stay a couple of days - Bob catching a plane home on Friday.
