Having spent the weekend in the Mar Manor at anchor off a little island, swimming etc., we have returned to our winter marina at Torrevieja to clean up the boat.

We had a great sail from Alicante down to the Mar Manor - A close and then broad reach in 15/20knots of wind for the 45 mile trip south down the coast (Past Torrejieva). With the usual swell one gets with an easterly wind the boat whizzed along at 7 knots +. Alison got her first sight of some dolpins but unfortunately they didn't stay with the boat.

The return trip from Mar Manor was again in an Easterly of about 14knots - Made for a great beat north up the coast about 16 miles.

The last two weeks have been generally quite good sailing, we have only used the engine for entering ports etc. - Alison is getting slowly more confident and enjoying the peace of sailing rather than the engine.

Well it is time to come home for a while, so we are now cleaning up the boat in Torrevieja and will be flying home next Tuesday the 9th Sept.

I have a sailing trip with friends in Greece early October, but hopefully will get out here in late October for a week or so before we give up for the winter.

CLOSING DOWN FOR NOW.
