We have now passed the half way mark! We clocked up 1500 miles in 8 days and 4 hours, not bad going really, on Monday at 4pm.  A small celebration was in order, we had a cold beer each sitting in the afternoon sun on the back deck - perfect.  We then shared a bottle of red wine with some French cheese and pate for dinner - we are really living on the edge!
Since then we have been powering along, and are now well on the way to passing the 2000 mile mark, which, all things being equal, will be tomorrow about noon or 1 o'clock. Once we get into the last 1000 miles, we are in real countdown towards the finish line.  We expect at current speeds etc to arrive within 17-18 days, which would be a result.
The seas are currently fairly benign, with smallish waves making for a comfortable ride, as opposed to yesterday which was a bit overcast and the seas a bit lumpy and corkscrewy.
Everything on board is good, touch wood etc, etc, and we are hoping that the rest of the trip will be as uneventful as the previous 10 days!
