41:16N 072:00W Fisher’s Island, Long Island Sound
Woke up to no rain but the dreaded fog. Very autumnal. However, when we left at 7:30 most of it had burnt off, then sunny periods, more showers no wind so motoring for most of the morning. As per usual the wind got up in the afternoon and we managed over 8 knots at times on a reach. 40 miles later, made the anchorage off Fisher’s Island in time for a late sundowner. Look who we are anchored next to ! Scott Free- of which there are many!
Most of the eastern part of the island is gated and private but we’ll go ashore here on the western shores early tomorrow to have a quick look before moving on to Block Island. If we’re lucky, there might be a shop - fresh food down to a minimum ie 4 apples, 1 sweet potato and a couple of onions. Ready, steady, cook.... any suggestions? |
