I always been fascinated by the huge wind powered generators, so I got up early yesterday (for a change) and walked up the hill in this small Bulgarian village where we Moore overnight.

It was interesting, being so close to them.

I was intrigued to inspect some used blades, stored nearby. They're of a composite fibre glass or polycarbonate construction and much bigger than I'd expected.....50 metres long!
