Besancon is situated at PK 73. The huge old La Citadelle is looking down on us. We are moored just outside the tunnel which
will take us directly through the great cliff in front of us.

PK 73, means point kilometer 73 also that we travelled 73 of the 185 km:s to the highest point of this canal, Monttreaux Chateau.
We are travelling upstream now.
Downstream there is another 32 km:s to Mulhouse in Alsace. And a crazy number of locks. In average more than one every km.

Ysterday VNF unexpected choose, finally, at 11:30, to open the Flood Gate. 11:45 we where on hour way.
It’s a perfect day warm, sunny and almost no wind. There is a lot of action around us, walkers, runners, bikers, fishermen ….
and som pleasure boats.
We made 33 km:s, 14 locks, some narrow passages and a tunnel. Still strong current on Le Doubs.
No problems what so ever. A good day.
Locks closes at 6:30 pm and we where moored safely at 6:45.
A bit tired but very happy to be on our way again. A rewarded GT and later a Chilli con carne just to heat up.
