2-3 November, today we will challenge the narrow locks again. So much easier with two more hands and eyes. Thank you Max.
Starting early with a double lock. Altogether we made 15 today. Mooring in the dark.

3 November. This is the junction. No we are turning toward the centre of Champagne.

Any barge coming towards us? It’s to narrow. And probably we are the losers in a chicken race.
We are on our way to Reims, no locks today. Only about 10 km:s to go.
Entering Reims was a disappointment. Historical marina, no way.
Sorry guys we have to continue to Sillerry, 10 km:s and 4 locks.. Much better. Hard to squeeze in. Interesting mooring to busches etc.At this time of the year nothing works,r everything is closed.
But we are lucky to meet Junior, this odd nice Schottisch character. With his help we managed to get electricity. Means we are fine.

4 November
We are eager to do some exploring. How will we get from Sillery to Reims? Bus and another bus, 1,5 hours. It would have been faster to take Sans Peur back to Reims. But the captain does NOT want to challenge those 4 old locks again. Every lock is a bit of a challenge.

This will be exciting. And it was. Romans and a munk (Dom Perigno) who made it happens Is it value for money?!

They make 8 millions of bottles a year. 25 km:s of “cellars” down there.

1 procent is still turned bu a human hand, takes a lot of turning, and altogether 9 weeks.. This Crue (aged about 10 years) will cost you about 60 Euros a bottle.
Only 17 villages out of 320 in Champahne are certified to deliver grapes to this making.

I didn’t drink it all. We rented a car. Tomorrow we will explore the next capital of Champagne, Eperny.
