Channel Islands National Park

None of the islands are named after any of the UK Channel Islands, but the largest is named after Santa Cruz of the Galapagos. A member of boat staff suggested this was because the islands were similar, so Caroline asked if there were lots of bars to drink at – they were surprised as there is nowhere on these islands to drink.

The main wildlife are two notoriously 'naughty' animals; small foxes and large ravens. These two will steal any food, even rucksacks, shoes and cameras and dump them in the sea.
We walked, snorkelled and had an excellent day although reminded of Scotland, the beaches are always cold but everyone dresses as though they are warm. Caroline was back in her puffa jacket!

 This adult fox pottered about.

The boat journeys only provided common dolphin spottings, but they put on a show for us.
