What a sail, very uncomfortable the first night with confused seas of about 8-10feet that just throw us all about, but the rest was pretty well plain sailing. The boat sails better than ever with these new sails, but everything else is falling to pieces. We cancelled our set off day because the engine failed, flooding fuel everywhere to the extent we thought we were going to catch fire. The bleed screw had fallen out and the engine pumped 50l of fuel into the bilge in 10 minutes which took the rest of the day to pump out and clean up. We had an engineer check us out the following day and we were good to go On the journey we lost the chart plotter because the attached radar blew the circuit breaker and a hose came off the water system so we pumped all 500l of water into the other bilge! As the generator was partly submerged we thought we might lose that too, but the Caribbean sun and some WD40 sorted it out.

Haiti is a great little sail from Curacao, we missed every squall until the third night when we expected to have some bad weather as every forecast shows bad weather in the area, but no real strong winds or heavy seas.
If we could do a journey without equipment failure that would be great.
As usual the dolphins came to say hello, but we have yet to identify them.
