Our friends from home, Henry and Dolores arrived on Friday, after a very
long and arduous trip. We travelled to Port Denarua marina to meet them and
filled up with food and fuel ready for our passage to New Zealand, we spent
the night there with the luxury of electric hook up and air conditioning to
help them get acclimatised to the heat and time difference and enjoyed a
meal out in the evening with our American friends.
On Saturday we had a very short sail to the resort of Musket Cove in the
Mamanuca islands where we have spent a very enjoyable 4 days enjoying the
facilities just chilling and catching up with each other's news. The time
passed too quickly and this morning Dolores caught the ferry back to the
main land from where she is flying to Auckland whilst Henry is sailing with
us.
We've got a busy day ahead of us, with last minute preparations, clearing
out of customs and immigration and a thorough check of the engine, sails
etc.
We hope to leave later this afternoon and the journey of 1200 nautical miles
should take us about a week. We've been studying weather forecasts and it
looks as if we've got a decent weather window ahead of us.
We'll keep you posted!
