Hi All,after recommissioning we sailed on Wednesday to BVI's Tortola, Sopers Hole cleared customs and immigration. We were treated to loads of large Tarpon fish swimming at night and also some Dolphins swimming around Safiya in morning. Declan heard his first havoc on the radio from charter boats. We sailed off Thursday with a gentle cruise to Norman Island avoiding the showers and we blessed Safiya with her first fish a large Barracuda caught by Declan.Friday we had a few maintenance issues to sort and then left for a fishing trip on route to Cooper Island. After a brief fishing trip the reel signalled another fish, which then surfaced 100m behind Safiya and Declan was enjoying the fight, this suddenly became a bit more serious as the line started to peel from the reel. We both started to try to slow the lose of line, burning holes in fishing gloves and fingers. I was confused by this sudden change but after 1/2 hours fight all became clear as a 5 foot shark appeared fixed to our line, yes Declan had caught a nice Wahoo but the shark had then caught the Wahoo and left its head also on the line! Had a great snorkel at the end of day now time for a beer and my Chile for dinner!
