Fortunately we timed our departure from Falmouth Harbour just right. We carved our way through the racing fleet who were between races so not too bad!

Unfortunately, Julia was definitely the worse for wear after last night and really did not surface until later in the day!

We had a lovely gentle downwind sail, under staysail only, along the Goat Head Channel before turning north back to Jolly Harbour. The south and west coasts of Antigua are really beautiful. Once again we anchored to the east of the main channel in about 3.5m, in beautiful turquoise water and opposite the Cove beach. We do love this spot!

Carl’s foot was much better today and Julia eventually recovered from a bad hangover! That evening we went to Al Porto, a really great Italian restaurant on the north east side on the way into the Jolly Harbour complex with its own dinghy dock. The owner, John, and his staff were charming. On Monday nights they have a live band playing and we had a lovely evening there.
