Morning All, Wills here,

Pretty good night for the wind at around midnight we put one reef in the main and firled half the foresail, we were reaching nice until dawn. The wind has gradually died and we know from the weather that it is not set to increase for 24 hours so the engine may be running soon I imagine. 3.5kts can get a bit frustrating and as Angus pointed out yesterday, "If you think about it, we're essentially jogging to Madeira!" which is painfully true, just a shame we wont be getting as fit if we were literally jogging there.

At around 10pm we saw our first action from the water in the shape of Dolphins!!! A school of about 20, which appeared to be having great fun in the bow of the boat, a pair hit mid air at one point they were so keen to show off! They stayed with us for about 20mins.

Bit of communication with the outside world at about 5am, someone contacted us via the VHF! It was a pair of fishing boats trawling for Hake with a line stretched between them, they were asking us kindly to atler our course for a short while to avoid getting caught on their lines, to which we agreed, we still came within about 50 yards of one of the boats. We did try to get some conversation out of them about their catch but the type of fish was about as much as we got.

Not sure if Tim is losing it or not at the moment as he is giving us running comentary on seaguls flying past and getting excited about 4.5kts of speed, only time will tell.

As I am typing the 'Iron Donkey' has been started up, what a lovely sound and smell it brings to the boat :-)

Sausages for breakfast, that's all i'm to say on the food front as I've been told food has been too high on the agenda for the blogs, but those that know me can understand why :-)
