We have passed half way.Lets hope it doesn't take so long for the second half!
Yesterday was very frustrating. We started reasonably and just after lunch we were spanking along( sl. nautical=good speed.nothing to do with Brenda Fender) but after about one hour the wind lessened until the sail started flapping and we were barely moving forward and not in the direction of the way point.A very poor mileage which dragged down the average which if doesn't improve means a Caribbean Christmas for your truly!
Whilst the galley slave is slaving in the galley the "boys" have been practicing their celestial navigation. Apparently if you give them the exact position they can measure and calculate that we are quite near that spot......marvellous . Some time is spent gazing across the ocean 'through the sexton ,looking for heavenly bodies....but I said just look around you, closer to home, but hey?
Beautiful day today.
Next achievement is half way from Cape Verde to St Lucia.
Ahoy,ahoy, Nick
