How ones standards slip!Still in my pyjama shorts but I did start an early watch at 0700hrs.
The humour has regressed to schoolboy levels but plenty of laughter.
Yesterday we only made 104 miles despite using the engine.Obviously we can't go on using up fuel especially as we need to charge up the batteries. So today we are sailing on the cruising Shute only and actually getting a gratifying 3to4 knots with force 2 winds.
During the 3 hour night watches I have been listening to "coffee break" French ....last nights lesson was about festivals and included how to say merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Not too prophetic I hope?
We are certainly in a microcosm here.We had 30 hrs without any sign of any human activity so when a cargo boat passed by early this morning it was strangely reassuring.
It is also quite hard to get ones head around how slow the progress is.Latest GRIB files suggest a strengthening of the wind so the next 24 hrs will be interesting.
It is gratifying to hear the blog is viewed from Canada to Australia not just little old Norfolk.
Yours expectantly
Lob lolly Nick
