At 0600 everyone was on deck eagerly awaiting our forst sight of land after 11 days. Still no wind and chugging along with the engine. Stopped at 0700 for an engine check and our last swim in deep cool water, it's so refreshing, however trying to get back on board is intersting as the boat moves up and down in the swells.
All hands set to cleaning up the boat, packing etc and the bags are all on deck yet we've still not seen land.

Eventually the North end of Barboados appeared over the horizon following a lot of false sightings, by which time everyone was on deck hanging around in the searing heat, and with no sails up shade was at a premium.

The land steadily grew closer and at the same time the breeze kicked in, thus it was agreed that we should try and sail the final few miles. Thus we rounded St Lucy North Point of Barbados and sailed the few miles down the coast to Port St Charles where all sails were dropped in somewhat of a mess, and we motored into PSC looking rather untidy!!

Berthed alongside one of the other boats and within minutes all had hit terra firma and were heading for the Club's bar and a beer. Banks beer tastes great after 11 days at sea!

Skipper had been left doing the clearance but soon appeared and managed a few beers, however just as lunch was ordered and the boys were getting stuck in to the beer he decided that we should head back on the ocean for our final 9 mile leg South to Carlisle Bay.

So we're off again.
