So, since bloging last, I've been to Mauritius for a few days and then a quick overnight sail to Reunion.
Mauritius was the first marina we'd been in since Auz so it was chance to give Rhumb Runner a good wash & clean. The customs & immigration checkin was one of the most paper intensive I have experienced. Customs was 12 pages but the officials are friendly and helpful.
The local market is one huge and great to wander around but we couldn't buy much as Mauritius have Foot & Mouth and any food on board would be confiscated in Reunion.
After a couple of days rest, a hangover, and an epic mountain bike ride up the back of Port Louis we were off again.
The new Marina in Reunion was nice & security was good. Formalities were easier than expected. They took all the fresh veg & fruit & open cheese. They let us keep all our frozen meet from Auz. We hired a car and explored the Island. Sharks are a problem so there's not many places to swim, but we did find a swim friendly beach. A lot of the island is high up with great views. The peak being over 2500mtrs. We drove up to over 2100. Provisioned & with a good weather window we are off.
