We set off from Darwin on 26/8 & so far the Indian Ocean has been smooth seas with little swell and light winds, when we have them. We've motored around 30 hours in 5 days and the winds have not been above 13knts. When on the beam it's been really pleasant sailing. When behind and light a bit frustrating with the sails flogging when the boat rocks with the small waves.
Still it's hot & life is easy. We've had a couple of swims when we've been motoring.
Just put the fishing lines out & found one of the stainless fishing hooks bent from the last time we caught a 5ft Mahe Mahe & he got away. I see why now.
We should be in Christmas Island in 4 days.
