So, it's been a while & a lot has happened. I never did get my cruising permit despite having to pay $40 "bribe" to get it a day earlier. The computer was down! So I was given a bit of paper with an official stamp saying I had done everything possible to get one & was free to cruise around.

We picked up Andy's other half, Sian and we set off with 5 on board. We stopped at Isle Linton which was a crowded anchorage on route to the San Blas & then in the morning departed for Povenier the check-in point for San Blas. Luckily they accepted the bit of paper & the cruising started. The islands are like Tobago Cays but there are 365 islands. Most are so small you can walk around them in 5-10 minutes. Some have the local natives living on them & some are deserted. We've now traveled up & down the main group & dropped off Andy & Sian who are flying back to the UK.

We've been cruising with the OCC rally and have been on mixing boats for drinks & meals. It's been really nice mixing with like minded cruisers.

Currently there is talk of the introduction of a tax that will charge $20 per ft for yachts on the 15th Feb. This would mean over $1000 for me & many other yachts so the OCC rally will be leaving. Until then we'll enjoy our final few days in this fantastic place.

One of the highlights for me was snorkeling with a 2mtr nursery shark. I left him on the bottom where he was & then 30 seconds later he swam under me. That was my one scare for that day!

On Bug Island a crocodile was spotted so we kept clear of it. Today we were told another had been spotted on Green Island which is a popular place where we have been swimming. Croc's are scarier than sharks!!
