Its rolling around here heading down the African coast until the butter melts (around the Cape Verdi islands!) and then I’ll be heading west.
The crew are settling into the rhythm of life aboard, moving on from 3 man to 4 man watches today  as Hazel has become very competent as look out at night. The food has smelt wonderful and they seem to be tucking in with gusto.
Highlights so far are dolphins joining me at dawn on the first morning  and the skipper seeing a meteor falling bright green from the sky on our second night. This caused a lot of chatter on the VHF radio as it looked like a flare but the wrong colour. When his wife heard of this she started singing ‘ Behold a meteor shining bright, conducts the Eastern sages right to Judah’s distant land’ Something to do with a quire and appropriate time of year but the others were’nt  too impressed!
The highlight so far this morning was the opening the first of the presents (there are a series to be opened on specific days) sent by Sue’s sister Nici.. Very appropriate, thank you
They are sending a couple of pics, one is showing the small selection of the fruit ad veg which they have secreted about me and the present.
