It was a hot sunny day.  Whilst I tackled the rest of the washing, Richard took the bikes off Pyxis and serviced them so that we can use them over the winter.  They had seized up a bit with lack of use and, presumably, all the sea spray they have suffered.  They are now covered in WD40.  Instructions for use: do not wear white clothes.

With the deck clear of bikes and the cockpit enclosure down, there was space to get at and refit the mounting for the danbuoy so that was the next job.  Then it was time to repair the top of the casing on the danbuoy itself where the hot sun has caused it to craze and crack over the summer.  There is always something needing to be done on a boat.

This evening I re-attached the mosquito nets to the hatches – I had taken them off when we cleaned the boat and I hadn’t put them back.  However the mossies have started bugging us at night again and after a sleepless night last night because I was stalking mossies, I am hoping that the nets give me some peace.
