Thursday 19th June – Cala Llonga, Ibiza - Ensenada de la Rápita, Mallorca

Last night the anchorage became a bit rolly; although the wind had dropped away, the slight land breeze over night was enough to swing us around so that the small amount of swell arriving was on the beam.  The swell rocked us from side to side more than we would have wished and we had a fitful night’s sleep.

This morning we were up and out at 7am, having decided to make the passage to Mallorca before the forecast Easterly winds set in against us later this week.  There is a High over the Balearics at the moment and we enjoyed a passage with clear blue skies, bright sunshine and flat seas.  The wind was a light southerly 2-3 so we had to motor-sail, but it meant we made good time and had a chance to fully recharge the batteries after being at anchor and we were able to run the watermaker to top up the water tanks.

Tonight we are on our third island in as many days and are now anchored in the SE corner of Ensenada de la Rápita, just south of Isla Gabina, on Mallorca.

Today was Moonshadow’s first anniversary of setting off on their travels and so we celebrated with a bottle of champagne and a BBQ on the nearby white sandy beach.  We watched the sun go down and then had dinner – it was a beautiful setting; the only down side was the thousand mosquitoes that joined us for dinner.  As we finished and left the beach, a full moon was rising to finish off a lovely day.
