Wednesday 21st July – Messolonghi

Today we were in town early before the heat of the day.  When we got back Richard went to check on a couple of boats we know which are being kept here – all was fine.

Late afternoon we met up with Russell on Aqua Domus who overwintered here and is still around; he is trying to sell his yacht and will then return to Australia.  The yacht is an Island Trader 41, quite a classic: twin wooden masts, bowsprit, long keel, heavy fibreglass hull, twin heads, solid teak joinery throughout, charcoal heater.  Whilst it is advertised for €50K, he is prepared to accept very substantially less for a quick sale.  Anyone interested can check the details out at www.aquadomus-forsale.co.uk and could get a real bargain (I’m not on commission, I just had a look round it tonight).

This evening we have had a quiet night in, catching up on some rest after being on the move for the last few months.
