Today we decided to stay on anchor and enjoy the view and the sunshine.  Richard went into town early on the dinghy for an explore ashore and to pick up some bread whilst it was quiet as the forecast was for the wind to get up to F4 this afternoon.  No cruise ships arrived this morning so Olympia should have been quieter today.

This morning Albert and Ineke on Joshua and the Spanish couple we met at Kyparissia both came out from the town quay to anchor in the bay.  On their way past, the Spanish yacht came very close to Pyxis and I wondered what was happening.  I went out on deck and I was asked if I like tuna.  Yes, I said.  Off they went to anchor and 10 minutes later they turned up in their dingy with two massive steaks of tuna.  Apparently a couple of the French yachts which arrived yesterday had caught some big tuna on their way across the bay and were distributing it around the yachts – the Spanish couple were letting us have some of their share as they said they had lots in their fridge.

At lunchtime the wind increased and has blown 16-22 knots most of the afternoon.  We have stayed on board and watched the anchorage fill with yachts – there are 15 of us this evening at the last count.  Some arriving yachts ventured in to the town quay but most came to the anchorage rather than tackle berthing in the strong wind.

Richard did his good deed for the day late afternoon when the engine failed on one of dinghies going ashore; despite paddling hard the wind was sweeping them backwards and so he went and towed them back to their boat.

Needless to say, tonight we had tuna.  I cooked one of the steaks between us; it filled the frying pan and was probably big enough for four.
