Thursday 8th July – Pílos, Peloponnese

36:55.104N 21:41.939E

The shipping forecast for today was NW F6 very soon locally F7 which is a tad on the windy side so we stayed put.

During the afternoon it blew a steady 20 knots in the marina and outside the harbour wall there were many white horses and a little spray over the wall at times, even in this enclosed bay – must have been a bit rough out at sea.

We relaxed with a book, wandered into town for some meat and fish, and tackled some maintenance items aboard.

A few yachts braved the weather today, a couple rafted on the town quay where they were then bounced around in the swell, a couple went to anchor at the top of the bay and a couple managed to squeeze into the marina.

This evening the wind has quietened and we have had a nice dinner sitting in the cockpit.
